The most lyric and traditional Christmas Carol have song for one more year, the young boys and girls from the “Group of Cretan Dancers with Local Costumes of Crete” to the Oncology Unit of Children “Marianna V. Vardinoyannis-ELPIDA” on Wednesday December 22nd 2021, making the children who are those days under treatment to smile.
The President of the Association “ELPIDA-Association of Friends of Children with cancer” Mrs. Marianna V. Vardinoyannis with the Administrator of the Children’s’ Hospital “H Aghia Sofia” and “P&A. Kyriakou” have warmly welcomed the members of the “Group of Cretan Dancers with Local Costumes of Crete” and their President Mr. Giannis Petrakis, thanking them who are by the side of “ELPIDA” children’s and this year to offer them nice Christmas moments.
The Cretan lyrics have been expanded to the Courtyard of unit while the little patients were watching with enthusiasm from the windows and balconies of their rooms the members of the Group of Cretan Dancers to dance the traditional dances offering them a unique spectacle.
“I wish to thank you from the depths of my heart who have travelled once again this year from Crete to be at the side of our children. Your presence means a lot for all of us and mainly for our children because is giving to them hope and courage. I wish to all of you “Happy Holidays” Mrs. Marianna V. Vardinoyannis said.
Mr. Petakis in his reply, has assured Mrs. Vardinoyannis that, the “Group of Cretan Dancers with Local Costumes of Crete” shall always be by the children’s of “ELPIDA” side while he song a Cretan Matinada:
“To these difficult times and contrary to the storm, the Association “ELPIDA” is the windless port. It gives this childish smile which is the spear that hits to the heart the cancer”. Right after that, the “Group of Cretan Dancers with Local Costumes of Crete” has visited the children of “Guest House of ELPIDA” where they have song the Christmas Carol and danced traditional dances with the participation of the children of the “Guest House”
