Mrs Marianna V. Vardinoyannis, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador, attended an event held by Buckingham Palace, in London, to honour the Cypriot diaspora in the United Kingdom, in the context of the Commonwealth, on Monday, 4 March 2019.
During this event held at Buckingham Palace, the Prince of Wales welcomed the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr Nikos Anastasiadis, his wife Mrs Antri Anastasiadi, and the members of the Cypriot delegation. The event was attended by eminent figures of the business, political and cultural world.
During the event, Mrs. Vardinoyannis had the opportunity for an extended conversation with Prince Charles, a long-time friend.
Prince Charles thanked Mrs Vardinoyannis for her support and her family’s support for the charity he has created, the Prince’s Trust. The Prince’s Trust is a youth charity that supports young people seeking employment, and it has a presence in our country helping young Greeks, 18 to 30 years old, to find a job.
In fact, Mrs Vardinoyannis warmly thanked Prince Charles for his kind invitation to the event held in London on 13 February in support of the Prince’s Trust, which she unfortunately could not attend due to other engagements.
Finally, Mrs Vardinoyannis and Prince Charles had the opportunity to talk about the visit of Prince Charles to Crete in May of 2018, and Prince Charles sincerely thanked her for the book on the Minoan Civilization she had given to him.
