The Association “ELPIDA- Association of Friends of Children with cancer”, has been standing next to the nursing, cleaning, guarding and the assistance personnel of the Children’s Oncology Unit once again.
In an expression of gratitude for whatever they are doing on daily basis for the children and in view of the Christmas days, the Board of Directors, the Counseling Committee members of “ELPIDA” and Mrs. Mariana Vardinoyannis personally have talked via tele-conference with the representatives of the Unit’s personnel exchanging warm wishes for “health and love” while gift vouchers were given once again for their Christmas tables.
“This meeting with you was organized from us to give us the opportunity to wish you for the Holy Days of Christmas and to thank you for your invaluable contribution to our common fight to the side of the children with cancer and express our estimation for your important work. A work which during this hard period of epidemic is becoming even more valuable for the children of our hospital with the great needs arising from time to time. Both you and your collogues are the pillar of our Hospital and you are in conjunction with our doctors, the members of the hospital’s administration and our social workers, the second home of our little patients at their hard fight against the cancer. Our thoughts and prayers are for the children, the parents and you and be healthy and strong to carry out your difficult and most precious mission” Mrs. Vardinoyannis said addressed to the personnel.
“Happy Holidays with health”!, I hope that, the next year’s conditions will permit us to be in person together! We thank you Mrs. Vardinoyannis once again for whatever you are doing for the Unit. Your love and care for everything is really precious to the fight of children, parents, doctors and nursing personnel! We thank you for everything” said the Administrator of the Children’s Hospital “H Aghia Sofia” and “P.&A. Kyriakou”, Mr. Manolis Papasavvas.
The nursing personnel was represented by Mrs. Triada Moraiti, in charge of the Unit of Bone Marrow Transplantation: “On behalf of nursing personnel we would like to thank you and send you our wishes. The wish of all of us is our little patients to return to their homes and reach to an end this difficult period of their life!”.
Mrs. Sofia Georgiadou, representing the cleaning personnel said: “I transfer to you the wishes of the cleaning personnel! A great thanking for your real in practice support all these years!”
On behalf of the guarding personnel Mrs. Spyridoula Karagianni has spoken who said:”We thank you for your support. You always remember us! We wish you health, love and happiness!”.
Being greatly touched, the Directress of the Nursing Service, Mrs. Efrosini Vlachioti said: Mrs. Vardinoyannis you are an example of woman and mother but you are mainly an example of fighter as fighters are all the nurses at the children’s side. On behalf of all of us, I thank you for your support. It is really valuable! All the Hospital is wishing you health and love!”.
