The most promising Christmas Tree, the “Tree of Wishes” full with the wishes for “health” and “Love” has lighten up at the Oncologic Hospital of Children “Marianna V. Vardinoyannis-ELPIDA”, on Tuesday December 9th 2025.
The President of the Association “ELPIDA – Association of Friends of Children with cancer”, Mrs. Christiana V. Vardinoyannis together with the Director of the Children’s Hospital “H Agia Sofia” and “P.&A. Kyriakou”, Mr. Manolis Papasavvas participated with the little patients of the Unit, the doctors, nursing staff and members of ELPIDA B.D in a Christmas event full of music, multicolor ornaments, smiles and a lot of gifts.
Mr. Yiannis V. Vardinoyannis, President and Managing Director of MOTOR OIL as member of “ELPIDA” Association, is consistently supporting all these years the work of the Association for the children with cancer and their families was also present in the event.
The President of ELPIDA has Lighted up, with Mr. Yiannis V. Vardinoyannis, the “Tree of Wishes” standing at the entrance of the Oncologic Hospital and wished health and love to the children and parents and stay strong to the Medical and Nursing personnel for their excellent work for the children with cancer and their families.
Mrs. Christiana V. Vardinoyannis, has thereafter given presents to all children offering to them a tremendous joy. The gifts was an offer of MOTOR OIL, being a tablet for all Unit’s and “Gust House of ELPIDA” children.
This year and for the first time has been placed on the Tree of Wishes together with the children’s wishes, a special wish being that of the compatible donor of the Association Orama ELPIDAS, Thanasis Mavromatis who had been found compatible on 2022 with a patient in need of transplantation giving to it the most precious gift, the gift of life!.
The artificial snow that was falling has contributed to this warm Christmas atmosphere and the Christmas melodies of the Navy’s Band spreading all over the Oncologic Children’s Hospital created a unique atmosphere of optimism which gave strength to the children that, are hospitalized these Holy Days.
