The Long-standing work of “ELPIDA- Association of Friends of Children with cancer” which has saved thousands of children and the offer of the founder of Association, the unforgettable, Marianna V. Vardinoyannis, at the battle against the children cancer, are honored by the Greek Postal Offices (ELTA) with the circulation of a new series of stamps and commemorative envelopes “ELPIDA- Marianna V. Vardinoyannis”.

In two of these stamps is shown the unforgettable Marianna V. Vardinoyannis a) at the date she received the Nelson Mandela 2020 Prize of the United Nations and b) in an event at the Oncologic Hospital hanging a little patient of ELPIDA. At the two others stamps is shown the most prestigious work of ELPIDA: the Oncologic Hospital of Children “Marianna V. Vardinoyannis-ELPIDA” and the logo of the Association “ELPIDA” which is synonymous with the support to the children and their families. On the commemorative envelope the central position is occupied by the phrase of Marianna V. Vardinoyannis which has become the slogan for “ELPIDA”: “It is worth to fight for the life of only one child”.

There are circulated 5.000 stamps bearing four adhesive stamps and 1.000 commemorative envelopes of the first day of circulation.

The circulation commenced on November 24^th  2025 at the Postaloffice of Syntagmatos Square where a lot of collectors have sealed the stamps with the special seal of the first circulation day of this specific series that makes them collectable.

They were present, the Chairman of “ELTA” Board of Directors Mr. Daniil Benardout, , Mrs. Eleni Samara and Melina Daskalaki members of “ELPIDA B.D., the secretary of “ORAMA ELPIDA Mrs. Ino Konstantopoulou ” , members of “ELPIDA” Association and officers of Marianna V. Vardinoyannis Association and ELTA.
