The Hellenic Community abroad is standing at the side of ELPIDA’S children once more via The Hellenic Initiative which is an all time and important supporter of the Association at its battle against the Children’s Cancer.

The representatives of The Hellenic Initiative visited on Friday June 27^th 2025, the Oncologic Children’s Hospital “Marianna V. Vardinoyannis-ELPIDA” being welcomed from the President of the Association “Association of Friends of Children with cancer” Mrs. Christiana V. Vardinoyannis together with Board of Directors members of the Association and the President of the Oncologic Children’s Hospital, Mr. Manolis Papasavvas.

The Hellenic Initiative was represented from the Vice-President of the Organization, Mr. John Koudounis, the Executive Director Mile Manatos, the Board of Directors members: Aris Candris, Achilleas Konstantakopoulos, Dean Metropoulos, Simos Symeonidis  and Michalis Printzos, Giannis Siannis and Vlassis Adraktas.

“The Hellenic Community abroad is, throughout the world, via the Hellenic Initiative, an important supporter at the battle against the Children’s cancer. I would like to thank you from the depths of my heart for whatever you done for our littlie heroes. We are really proud for our cooperation.  An cooperation which is continuously strengthened and has been developed in an alliance of life and hope! Our precious cooperation has helped us to further upgrade our Hospital’s Center of generic and cellular therapy.  The operation and the achievements of this Center give us the hope that 4 to 4 children suffering from cancer will be healed in the future, an achievement which was the vision of my beloved mother, Marianna V. Vardinoyannis, said Mrs. Christianna V. Vardinoyannis.

The President of the Association “ELPIDA”, has thereafter handed over to the Vice-President of the Hellenic Initiative, Mr. John Koudounis, a honorary plaque expressing her gratitude for the Organization’s support to the work of ELPIDA.

Mr. Koudounis has spoken for the significant contribution of ELPIDA to the Hellenic Society: “Vardis  and Marianna Vardinoyannis are benefactors of this country and shining examples for all of us. The work that they have left behind them which is going on, is very important and it is great honor for us to participate at this effort”.

Right after that, the President of the Oncologic Hospital, Mr. Manolis Papasavvas, has guided the representatives of The Hellenic Initiative at the Hospital and has in details informed them for the way of its operation and the medical achievements for the therapy of children’s cancer.

It was very interesting also the visit at the Center of genetic and Cellular therapy of the Hospital which is the unique Center of Genetic and Cellular Therapy certified by the National Drugs Organization and its Doctors have shown to the representatives of The Hellenic Initiative the operation of medical devises the supply of which was made with the Organization’s donation.

It must be pointed out that, the cooperation of The Hellenic Initiative with the Association ELPIDA, has started from the unforgettable Founder of the Association, Marianna V. Vardinoyannis who believed at the strength and patriotism of Greeks. The Greek homogeneous have included the assistance of ELPIDA’S purposes at their priorities, steadily supporting the battle against the Children’s Cancer through their actions.
