The most promising Christmas Tree, the “Tree of Wishes” full with the wishes for “health” and “Love” has lighten up at the Oncologic Unit of Children “Marianna V. Vardinoyannis-ELPIDA”, on Saturday December 14th 2024.
The President of the Association “ELPIDA – Association of Friends of Children with cancer”, Mrs. Christiana V. Vardinoyannis, participated with the little patients of the Unit, the doctors, nursing staff and members of ELPIDA in a feast of love and hope full of music, Christmas ornaments, smiles and a lot of gifts.
Mr. Yiannis V. Vardinoyannis, President and Managing Director of MOTOR OIL, which is consistently supporting all these years the work of the Association for the children with cancer and their families was also present in the event.
Mrs. Christiana V. Vardinoyannis and Mr. Yiannis V. Vardinoyannis, have visited all the departments of the Unit, talked with the Directors and the nursing staff and were in details informed about the departments operation and the children’s’ condition of health wishing to all of them “Happy Holidays” and stay strong for the important work performed from them for the children and their families.
Mrs. Christiana V. Vardinoyannis, has thereafter lighten up the “Tree of Wishes” standing at the entrance of Oncologic Unit who got excited the little patients wishing to them “health” and “love” for the new year and placed her ornament on the tree with her handwritten wish.
Mr. Yiannis V. Vardinoyannis, the Governor of the Children’s Hospitals “P.&A. Kyriakou” and “H Agia Sofia”, Mr. Manolis Papasavvas, the B.D. members of ELPIDA, the members of the administrative and nursing personnel and all the hospitalized children, have also written their own wishes.
The President of ELPIDA has immediately after that distributed gifts to all children offering to them a tremendous joy.
The artificial snow falling at the yard, the Christmas melodies of the Navy Band and the Christmas carols from the children of the Athens College Chorus have created a unique atmosphere of optimism giving strength to the children who are under therapy these holy days.
The faces of the little heroes had been over lighted when they found, after their return to their rooms, one more Christmas gift-surprise, an offer of MOTOR OIL, being a tablet for all Unit’s and “Gust House of ELPIDA” children .
