A strong ally which stands at the side of the children of “ELPIDA” is as of this day the “F.C. Panathinaikos” which has been awarded as the “Champion for the ELPIDA 2025-2027” during the team’s visit at the Oncologic Unit of Children “Marianna V. Vardinoyannis-ELPIDA” on Wednesday, February 26^th 2025 together with the representatives of Stoiximan Company.

The Vice-President of the team, Mrs. Athina Balomenou and the four Captains of the team, Fotis Ioannidis, Tasos Bakasetas, Carlos Zeka and Bart Schenkeveld  and the representatives of the Company Stoiximan, Mrs. Maria Kalapotharakou, Nefeli Christopoulou and Mr. Giorgos Papagianis, visited the Unit offering smiles and optimism to the hospitalized children.

The President of the Association “ ELPIDA” – Association of Friends of Children with Cancer” Mrs. Christianna V. Vardinoyannis, the Governor of the Children’s’  Hospital “P&A Kyriakou” and “The Agia Sofia”, Mr. Manolis Papasavvas and the Memebrs of the Association Board of Directors welcomed the representatives of F.C. Panathinaikos and the representatives of the Company Stoiximan.

Mrs. Vardinoyannis has warmly thanks the F.C. Panathinaikos for their initiative to stand next to the children of “ELPIDA” and has awarded the team as “Champion for ELPIDA 2025-2027”: The whole family of ELPIDA wants to have you at our side at our battle  against the Children’s cancer. And for this reason we want to award to you today the title “Champion for ELPIDA 2025-2027”,  so that, to be, via the Sports, the messengers of the message of offer to our children!”. as it has characteristically said Mrs. Vardinoyannis.

The Vice-President of the team, Mrs. Athina Balomenou has congratulated Mrs. Vardinoyannis  for ELPIDA’S work and announced that, the children of ELPIDA will have their own seat at all home games of Panathinaikos while, one of the children once per week can visit the team’s training center” “It is our wish to create a substantive bond with these children because the battle of each one of those children is the light of life for all of us. The least that we can do is to have our hands open for them. It a great honor for us to be at the side of ELPIDA and we warmly thank you for the magnificent work.

There were also present together with F.C. Panathinaikos  at the at the Oncologic Unit of Children “Marianna V. Vardinoyannis-ELPIDA”, representatives of the Company Stoiximan who, as sponsors of the team, offered a donation in support of the purpose of Association ELPIDA while they offered also gifts for the hospitalized children and for those at the guesthouse of ELPIDA.

“I would like to warmly thank the Company stoiximan for their contribution at the today’s visit of F.C. Panathinaikos and for their donation for the Association’s purposes” Mrs. Vardinoyannis said.

The Head of Communications & CRS from the side of Stoiximan, Mrs. Maria Kalapotharakou emphasized that: “our vision at Stiximan is, through an expanded program of Corporate responsibility, to materialize actions that, substantially contribute to the improvement of our fellow human beings life. It is a great pleasure for us to stand with the F.C. Panathinaikos next to the children of Association “ELPIDA-Association of Friends for Children with cancer” supporting its magnificent work. Stoiximan is becoming part of ELPIDA effort to offer a multi-level support to the little heroes and their families”.

The President of the Children’s Hospital “P&A Kyriakou” and “The Agia Sofia”, has in details informed for the work of the Unit saying among others: “Our Oncologic Hospital continues to serve the vision of the unforgettable Marinna V. Vardinoyannis by following up all the developments of the medical science and offering to our labile patients the opportunity to have access at innovative and pioneering therapies. We have achieved until presently, 47.000 hospitalizations, 209.100 day hospitalizations, 1.500 transplantations, 20 cellular therapies and 3 therapies of genetic modification.

Then, the players of Panathinaikos visited the little patients of Unit passing by from all rooms, took photos and gave them gifts of the team, strength and optimism of which they are in such a need.
