The work of the “ELPIDA” Association The “ELPIDA Association of Friends of Children with cancer” was founded in 1990 by a group of dynamic women, with Mrs. Marianna V. Vardinoyannis as its President. From its founding until today, “ELPIDA” has actualised a comprehensive framework of treatment and support for children suffering from cancer and for their families, raising the awareness of the Greek people, who embrace its vision and support its work. The milestones in the work of “ELPIDA” And our work doesn’t stop here! Bone Marrow Transplant Unit -1992 The first purely paediatric bone marrow transplant unit in Greece was created. Redirect to the BMTU website “ELPIDA” Guest House - 1999 The first guest house was built to host children suffering from cancer and their families free of charge. Redirect to the Paediatric Oncology Hospital website Vision of Hope Association - 2012 The “VISION OF HOPE” Foundation was established, with its first goal being to increase the number of Volunteer Bone Marrow Donors in Greece.
