Prominent representatives of Greek fashion joined forces with ELPIDA and its President, Mrs Marianna V. Vardinoyannis, to send a powerful message against childhood cancer and to commemorate the 30 years of ELPIDA’s contribution.
On Tuesday, 4 February 2020, Ms. Vardinoyannis welcomed top Greek fashion designers to the Children’s Oncology Unit and they agreed to organise a big fashion show together. “Greek Designers for ELPIDA and ELPIDA for Greek Designers” will be the title of the runway show to take place in the Spring of 2020 for the purposes of the Association of Friends of Children with Cancer “ELPIDA” which is celebration its 30th anniversary this year. The first meeting was attended by 18 designers; however, the aim is to bring in even more designers who would like to support the work of ELPIDA.
“From this day forward you too willbemembers of the large ELPIDA family, and everyone’s presence here today is proof of your sensitivity and love for our children, which deeply touches us all. The fact that the most prominent representatives of Greek fashion want to join forces with us so we can all together send a strong message against childhood cancer is of great value. I am really happy because I see before me talented, creative and successful people. Each of you with their own unique and distinct style have managed to forge a brilliant career in fashion. Your example becomes a support for the young children of our country and your kindness a support for the children of our Hospital. Thank you for being here with us today. We look forward to happily welcome other Greek designers who will want to participate in this event to support ELPIDA”, Mrs Vardinoyannis noted in welcoming the Greek designers.
In fact, as a token of her gratitude for their significant contribution in ELPIDA’s work, Mrs Vardinoyannis awarded them honorary plaques.
For their part, the 18 Greek designers gave their heartfelt assurances to Mrs Vardinoyannis that they will support her work with all their might.
