Ms Michailidou thanked Mrs Vardinoyannis for the great honour, noting, “Your work is truly very significant and the Hospital you established complies with the standards of the best hospitals in Europe. I am hoping to have been able to make my small contribution to this major effort by the end of my office term.”
Immediately after, Ms Michailidou was given a tour of the Children’s Oncology Unit and was updated in detail by the doctors and nurses on the way the Unit operates.
As a matter of fact, Ms Michailidou also visited the Volunteer Bone Marrow Donor Bank of the ORAMA ELPIDAS Association and became a volunteer donor herself, wishing to send a strong message for bone marrow donation through her example.
